How to fit roman blinds
Roman blinds outside window recess
Roman blinds fitted to cover outside the window frame recess provide greater levels of light control are perfect for bedrooms or media rooms. Blackout lining should be used with the roman blind’s fabric to ensure maximum light control.
Roman blinds inside the recess
Roman blinds fitted inside the window frame recess are ideal where space around the window frame is an issue for example in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways or studies. Alternatively, they can be used inside the frame when hung in addition to curtains to provide an elegant classic look in living rooms.
Roman blind styles
There are several stacking options available when making roman blinds which impact how the blinds appear when raised or let down. The most popular of these are the Flat Stack roman blind and the Layered roman blind finish.
Flat stack finish
This roman blind features spines at the back. When raised the folds form and stack neatly in a flat stack formation at the bottom of the roman blind.
Layered finish
For a softer finish, the layered or waterfall style for roman blinds allows the folds to cascade when raised. This option works beautifully with plain or textured fabrics, adding a gentle, flowing effect to the finished roman blind.
Relaxed (European) style
